Full Title: The Mermaid Faery and The Inquisitive Frog
Watercolour on Cotman watercolour paper.
When I asked my beautiful friend Kelly if she would model for me, she told me that she had always dreamt of being turned into a mermaid faery, which instantly inspired me. I did some sketches and took some photos of her for reference. I also know that she is a huge fan of frogs, hence the giant curious frog.
I painted this today and it has taken me quite a few hours. As always, painting makes me feel like all my stress is evaporating with every brushtstroke. Wonderfully therapeutic indeed.
I can't wait to show Kelly and see what she thinks
